========================================

You’ve got to admit that he’s good. He has them all wiggling
on hooks and they just don’t have a clue. ;)

Kooter

Mike C has:.

1) provoked a large variety of reactions, angry and otherwise,
from many members of this group, leading each thread in
one of a small number of stylized directions

2) attracted an audience.

3) created a net-personality, and become the most memorable
figure in this group.

Hats off to you, Mike, and to the dozens of people who have
helped you accomplish the above.

Mike Russell

After narrowly avoiding taking Mike on once, I’ve
learned to sit back and enjoy the sparring.

Artboy from Oz

Brian, don’t listen to Mike, he’s a skilled provocator...

Mike Minovski

Artist Mike has the right idea - I chuckle at you Ron.

Krustov

In an ever-changing world it’s good to know I can
always find consistency in Mike’s replies ;)

John Silver

I believe that he likes to challenge peoples
preconceived notions of reality....kinda like the
dude at an acid party that shapes the
experience for the group.

My problem with it is that it robs the community
of the insights of a talented artist (my opinion)
because people don’t want to make the attempt
to understand where he’s coming from. And to
a certain extent, Mike fosters that idea.

SubDude

I’ve actually read accusations that Mike abused his
children, that he beats Janet -- some of the most
despicable things you can do to someone --
and of course the people making these accusations
had absolutely *no* proof...and frankly, all these people
have done is make me appreciate Mike all the more --
his sound advice and easygoing personality --
and despise them even more....Sick, despicable,
jealous, petty people -- ignore them...

Carol

It was something that Mike C says often that changed
my mind...and my outlook on a few things --

It’s your choice as to how you react to people...
having the power of choice is a powerful thing, indeed...
especially once you wake up and realise that.

Carol

I’ll take being on Mike’s list any day over having to deal
with certain people....

YEAH BABY! I finally made “The List”.

Carol

Mike C does not annoy or offend me. However, I do find
many of the reactions to him extremely unreasonable and
unwarranted.

Jess

Mike has never been rude or disrespectful to me...
ONLY HELPFUL! We all post as we choose and interpret
what we read. I have never interpreted his posts to me as
mean spirited. In my opinion I think he is an asset to the
group. I enjoy his cut and dry posting style and philosophy
on freedom of speech.

artonio7

You know, Mike is definitely a PITA, but he’s not
that bad of an artist.

Tom Vallombroso

...you can exchange “God”
for “Emperor Mike Christy” and
*smiles all the time* for *chuckles all the time*

“God does not play dice with the universe:
He plays an ineffable game of His own devising,
which might be compared, from the perspective of
any of the other players [i.e. everybody], to being
involved in an obscure and complex variant of poker
in a pitch-dark room, with blank cards, for infinite
stakes, with a Dealer who won’t tell you the rules,
and who *smiles all the time*.”

O H D

Your willingness to pursue a no win situation, and
your lack of understanding of the “game”, make for
an excellent “Net Toy”.

It is amazing that there is a virtually never ending
number of people that fit that description.

Mike has a knack for bringing these people out,
and I get to watch and play pretty much whenever I
feel like it. Keep on spinnin’

Mike P C

This is scary. Mike’s making sense to me.

Jim

OK, here’s my take. Mike C is a bit of an enigma,
like an obscene sculpture at the top of a cathedral.
This is by his own design.

He provides us with a mixture of aggravation and
examples of his excellent artwork. The proportions
of this mixture are chosen to provoke the maximum
aggravation from those who simply must put him in
one category or another.

For my own part, I am very critical of those who lose
themselves in their reflexive anger at Mike

His careful balancing act of high quality contributions,
and hurtful banter is unique. Whatever your own
opinion of Mike C may be, above all he is probably
part of this news group for as long as he chooses
to be.

Mike Russell

Dammit, man. That’s funny stuff.

Ben Woodward

Holy crap. I made it onto the list.

Ben Woodward

I am in it ...

Stephan

No offense to anyone intended here, but do you
guys realize that you are playing directly into Mike’s
hand with your replies? I have no doubt that he is
sitting in his chair laughing his ass off at these
replies.

Mike uses this group for his amusement, and hey
if it works for him, so be it! I think it’s pretty funny to
read his posts and even funnier to read your
replies.

Todd Walker

Well as much as I find the games MikeC enjoys
playing rather amusing, I must say that he did help
this time ... I tend to believe that MikeC has
the personality of a cynic philosopher.

Quadrant3

I had to laugh ... Bravo, good work!

Stephan

Don’t let the “Mike C Experience” hurt you, you’ll find
that most ... of the people who respond to Mike are
much worse than Mike himself. I guess he’s just
good at drawing out the worst in people :]

Fungusamungus

...very few people actually get a noticable rise out of
Mike, and even if they do, it’s a much shorter event
than the rise Mike gets out of people. However, some
people, like myself, Ross, Ron, Sally, etc. get a kick
out of the entire thing. It’s like watching a hospital
nursery room. One baby goes “Wah!” and sets off a
chain reaction. It’s pretty interesting to say the least :]

Fungusamungus

You just proved Mike’s point that it’s the *reader* that
determines the effect of a poster’s words, not the poster.
You see him as an idiot and choose to resort to name-
calling and crudeness. I see him as a fun kind o’guy who
often provides valuable insight into the human condition
(though I admit he *could* be an agent of Satan..).

Gail

Thanks! I’m pleased to have made the list again ;-)

I’m surprised that so many of the regulars in the PSP
newsgroup just don’t get it. Probably never will either.

Gail

Are we “educated” enough now ?
Oh thank you, thank you!

Stephan

I will enjoy watching Mike do his thing, whilst you whine
like a ninny about it.

Fungusamungus

Nobody can win against you ... [Mike]

Toonman

I merely stated how much I enjoy how much Mike
manhandles people like you, who continue to whine about it...

Fungusamungus

Mike plays with those who play along. . .
they know what he is doing.

Tweets

Again, it’s a self control issue. You feel the need to respond
to Mike... I must admit though, that just as Mike can draw out
negativity in people, those that continue on with him tend to
start to think a little more (usually in an attempt to outsmart him).

I also notice that these people are generally not trolls, but WILL
degrade themselves into troll-like tactics against Mike.

Fungusamungus

A good writer can get someone’s blood to boil without using
a single harsh word.” Artist Mike’s writing is evidence of this
particular style.

Uni

My point is, if you don’t want to play with Mike C, stay
out of it. This thread would be short and sweet if no
one wanted to play. If you are in it, you must want to
play.

Silly Sally Beacham - who ain’t afraid

I always read your posts, Mike, because even tho’ you
eschew diplomacy and hit everything head-on, you are
talented and interesting and usually say things that
need to be said.

“*^*” Jeanne “*^*”

I’ve also seen him be helpful with others - especially when
they didn’t have the usual knee-jerk reaction to his initial,
often abrasive response.

Many people don’t like the way he behaves... but I think it’s
all in one’s reaction to him that determines how he interacts
with a person.

I understand his philosophy ...we can ultimately only be
responsible for our own actions and REactions...

The philosophy is true, although most of us tend to be more
considerate of someone else’s feelings even if they aren’t
really our responsibility.

I guess I just never went about being annoyed by things he
said or did. I’ve never had the urge to point out his behaviors
or try to change or control them.

Jess

Hi, my name is mikee, I like fig newtons.

Zimphire

I see Mike now has you spinning at warp speed.
