The picture to the left is a "cross your eyes" 3D picture. To see the 3D effect just cross your eyes so that the two images overlap.

 

The "Voice & Music DM-20" is a digital voice and music recorder. You can transfer the WMA files to your computer through a USB docking unit or through a USB cable. I run a Mac and the supplied software on the CD will convert the WMA files to a format that the Mac understands.

The "DM-20" has a built in mic that has a little better frequency response than the supplied external mic. I have also plugged in some stereo mics and the unit understands -- on its own -- that a stereo mic has been plugged in, and then starts recording in stereo.

I will supply some MP3 files at the bottom of this page so that you can listen to the unit in different modes.

The "DM-20" also lets you listen with headphones as you record. You can boost the "play-through" volume so that you can hear small details of your recording as it is being recorded. There is also a small speaker on the back of the unit for playback.

There is also a mic sensitivity adjustment.

In the "High Quality" recording mode you have almost 9hrs. of recording time. There is a stereo mode that cuts that "High Quality" time in half. There are other mono recording modes that give you even more time - but a little less quality.

The "DM-20" does not have removable storage media. You have to transfer the files to your computer if the unit becomes full.

You can remove the batteries and the stored recordings will NOT be lost.

There is an "off" button, but it is not labeled as an "off" button. The button is labeled "HOLD" that seems a little odd to me.

I run the "DM-20" on two AAA rechargeable batteries, and it seemst to be able to record for a long time on just those two batteries.

I would give the unit a 8 out of 10 rating.
